About
Wells Watson is a New York based multidisciplinary artist working across film, sculpture, and painting. His practice engages technologies of preservation, pushing media systems such as CRT televisions and photographic plates to their limits of stability.

Watson does not treat damage as a purely expressive gesture. He uses abrasion, burning, and distortion as deliberate interventions, turning the intended functions of materials inward.
His work also refuses the production of images for passive consumption. Instead, it stages situations in which images consume themselves. Through this cannibalism, images devour their own authority, collapsing into something generative that opens space for reflection.
